when i realize our planet, our sun, our galaxy

speeds along at 50 thousand miles per hour

in a constant spiral ever forward

how could I possibly hold on to yesterday

it’s millions of miles gone past

new energy, new vibration, new everything

new age, who cares about labels

death shakes up those who are unable to hold the light

I must release beliefs to keep up

energy is felt and experienced

for some it’s mild, for others laid flat

there is no longer time nor place to wonder

there is only now and that is that

adorning my shades of rose colored glass

perceptions skewed by positive vibes

loving every beautiful color

spiraling along on  the ride

This is a wonderful, inspirational write! Well said! there is only the now...the past is gone and the future has not yet come, so there is no sense in worrying about yesterday and fearing tomorrow!

Wishing you an abundance of creativity,

With respect and smiles,

Carol Phelan Aebby

You missed one. Our cluster of galaxies is rapidly accelerating away from the Big Bang, soon to exceed the speed of light. That said, I love speed because it gives me an exhilaration I don't get anywhere else… Just as long as there are no sudden stops. ;-)

Kate says it well. You have blended several philosophical viewpoints into one poem very nicely.

Excellent exposition of holding the tensile force of the universe: the now which is ever-present in the light of the moment that rushes by. How you have managed to simplify such thoughts into a straightforward narrative of drive, colour and conviction is wonderful here, Debby. A fabulous piece of poetry, physics and philosophy. xx

Debby, you have given us a time capsule to use in working out how we might want to live our lives. I so loved this . . . "how could I possibly hold on to yesterday / it’s millions of miles gone past." How so indeed. This is one hell of a "teaching" poem. Thank you.
