cause i live on a mountain
and the rains have come
and the landslide is slipping
the muds coming down
thick and slick and taking
everything with it
down to the river we're
caught in the flow
the current's moving fast
with heavy undertow

the quail walk the bank
pecking for seeds
there is a dog that is barking
yipping for attention
come here boy
help me out of this mud
you look kinda hungry
let's find you a bone
just a mongrel are you now
we'll go home and have a bath
dry off by the fire
lay down and take a nap

you're a mut of the forest
of that i have no doubt
the back door's never locked
just yip if you want out
this mountain here is filled with
things just waiting to be explored
it would be nice to have you
here as i wander through
this luscious forest
all cleaned up you're kinda cute
so let's go now and find some joy
