and tie up my hair

mixing beakers
wonder what happens
when you mix this with that

volatile compounds
i think mislabeled
could be sweet/could explode

i sense warmth
on the back of my neck

i check the beaker
it seems still

the cat is sleeping in the corner
must be dreaming
his whiskers are twitching

the bird is chirping
and is still alive

i turn around
the sensation again
something close
like face to face
an almost kiss
where lips don't touch

i bite my lip
feeling flush
thinking i must be daydreaming again

shrug my shoulders
roll my neck
i feel it again

teasing me
i can't analyze it
just aware

i know i'm sleepy
and worn down
but this thing
is stirring my equilibrium

it is warm and playful
a heart response
the invisible wonders peek
initiating feelings deep
