Once a child is involved, a man and woman can never be completely separated.

A bundle of joy dropped from heaven
Not knowing the effect she would have
On a family so badly broken
It was her mission to save the day.

Through the hospital glass her grandma and
Grandpa looked at her with love
They had been apart for many years
But her appearance into their lives
Made all their anger disappear

They looked at the babe than at one another
and gave each other an ardent embrace.
this child brought them back together,
it was a pleasant fact they had to face.

They left to go see the mom, their own little
girl, the one they bought into this world.
She suffered through their hurt and humiliation
But still turned into a lovely young woman

The three of them were talking to together
When they bought the newborn babe into the room
Their daughter looked at her brand new prize, and
Said, “Look, Mom, she has your eyes!”

The visiting hours were over and it was time to leave,
They smiled at one another and gave a cordial good-bye.
She left with her husband, he left with his wife.

After they had left each other, they realized something
When a man and a woman have a child
They may separate and say good-bye, but
Throughout their entire lives, their children
And grandchildren will always be the ties that bind.

A nice read -- a nice reminder of how love is never completely broken -- it might get tangled and twisted -- we can submerge it -- try to drown it out with all our hurts -- but it is capable of springing to the surface when given half the chance. Susan

beautiful truths in the last line:
And grandchildren will always be the ties that bind.

I have written a fiction book about the ties that bind, your poem made me think of this. Blessings, Holly

great positive poetic story Mary, children do make a big difference. My brother broke up with his first wife who I did not get along with but because of my nephews I still treat her like family
