Although I am now left alone I still need to remember the good times. Being a poor sleeper I often watched my love sleep.
NB This is the first non rhyming poem I've attempted.
Rhythmic breath I hear
Sheets pushed aside
Breasts rise and fall
Gentle slumber grips
Unaware of my gaze
Watching you sleep
Drawn by love
My gaze lingers
Picturing beauty
Behind closed eyes
Heart melts recalling
Need to touch
Gentle caress
Nothing more needed
Even in sleep
My thoughts known
Sleepy eyes open
Soft smile appears
Arms reach up
Draw me down
Words whispered
‘Love me’
