I thought about you today

Just a thought..... : )

I thought about YOU today…..

I thought about you today and just how much I love you. I know that my mind lacks the reasoning power to be able to comprehend the heights in which my heart ascends to love YOU, but my heart “translated” it into pictures that I began to understand.

The first “image” that my heart let me view was one of a single droplet of rain, carried from East to west across the vast expanse of the sky. The raindrop was one among MILLIONS in this cloud formation and I was confused yet compelled by my heart to continue my observation. As the clouds passed mountains, and over great cities, I was carried aloft and I simply observed as they passed over parades, picnics, baseball games. Happy places, but in each of these places not a single drop of this rain was welcomed or wanted, ESPECIALLY the raindrop that I was so compelled to observe.

The clouds continued over mountains and rolling green hills, evolving, changing getting stronger and more ominous. Joining forces with the wind as if choreographed in timed and pre-set schedules from God himself.

In the far distant horizon, I saw a tiny white frame house. Around the house were acres and acres of dusty plowed fields. A farmer was on his knees in the corner of the fence row, carrying his petition to God for a single drop of rain.

“Please God” he prayed. “Let me feel the rain again” as tears ran down his cheek, I could see why he was crying. His wasn’t a sadness of crops lost to drought in a field, his was a sadness because the flowers he planted didn’t grow on the grave of his loved one.

I watched you, even though represented as a single drop of rain amongst millions in this torrent, YOU were the special one picked by God to carry his message of hope to this poor man who had none. Suddenly I realized, at the parade you would have been avoided, at the picnic you would have been cursed, at the baseball game you would have been a nuisance to the crowd, but to this SINGLE man, YOU are the answer to a prayer.

At the time set by the creator himself who controls the release of each drop of rain, I watched you descend. Guided by the invisible hands of the wind, you made your way to your perfect destination, the ONE place where you could be loved, appreciated, wanted and needed.

You landed cool and gentle on the sun toughened and weathered cheek of the farmer as he prayed. Before his tears had a chance to fool him, to dash his hopes once again, you gave of yourself and instantly his hope was restored and his faith renewed. You were ONE drop of rain among millions, but none could have been more loved or appreciated than you. You touched his heart. The other raindrops fell around him, but he felt only you.

I realized I was the farmer, having given up all hope to feel love grow in my life, I felt you, cool, soft and gentle on my cheek. An answer to my prayers, not the baseball fan or the family at the parade or the young pair of lovers enjoying their summer picnic, I was the farmer who had lost all hope until YOU.
