I stand as a lighthouse
Shining my light into the dark.
Guiding your love back to the safety of my heart

You've been in the storm, braved waves I'll never see you crossed the ocean of anguish on your journey to me.

I was a prisoner to the shore, left to wait for you to keep shining my light was all I could do.

I kept my light burning, through the dark nights alone others move about me but without you I'm alone.

I've cried in the nights, standing alone waiting for you worried at what you're facing and what hell you might be going through.

The sails were torn, you stayed at the wheel you just can't imagine how I could know how you feel.

I've watched you from here, I kept you in my light I strained and struggled to keep up the fight.

You've shed bitter tears, I wanted to reach for you so through the dark pain and confusion I just want you to know

When the dawn starts to break, and the horizon comes into view you'll see me on the shoreline standing, waiting for you.

My job is to wait, to keep the lamp burning to stand here and wait while your world is turning.

Changing so fast, hurting so deep,
you feel so tired but there's no time for sleep.

Your mind is weary, your heart is heavy and aching the more that you give, the more your world keeps taking.

You're the captain meant to sail I was built with the purpose to keep you well.

Watching from a distance, my touch you can't feel from here when there's an ocean between us you're still so near.
