Can you imagine giving your child to save the world?

I watch my little ones as they sleep
Praying to God their souls to keep
So blessed that they are safe and warm
Thanking Him they are safe from harm


As I slip into my bed
Many thoughts go through my head
I think about another mother
whose child was born, like no other

She had no cradle in which to lay him
no music box, or linen sheets
to sooth this little one to sleep

This tiny child was born, you see
to save the likes of you and me
Heavenly voices did proclaim
this little one, this holy Son

I never fully understood
what it meant to know your son
was born to die, Can you imagine how
it must have been?
To give your child would save the world from sin?
