...a week ago, when the internet was not available to my 'puter, I had time to ponder and poetize.

Poem Artwork

In the quiet of the night we think…we dream,
but our mind is fully alert, we do not sleep.

We think…we dream of our loved ones
and what could have been…
we do not sleep.

What times, what part of life
have we wasted?

Could we have altered our lives
and that of others
had we been more aware of ourselves
and those around us?

Would we change what is now?

Could we have had that power
back then
in the days of our youth
when our mind was fully alert
and did not sleep?

In the quiet of night,
did we think…did we dream?

This is certainly worthy of pause for thought and "food" for reflection, Jackie. Thank you for sharing this offering. Love and peace to you,

It's want we dreamt about that may lead us to further reflection, but I prefer to forget the past and think of today. Today is a new fresh day. What can I do today that I did not do in the past? Obviously we cannot change the world. That is too great a burden for us and it is in safe hands, those of God. Think of today, Micke, not even of tomorow, for if we live well today, tomorrow will take care of itself. Victor

I believe we did dream and ponder and as life grows longer we ponder more and hope to dream... A wonderful poem............

Quite profound questions, Micke, and much food for thought.

An excellent write that should provoke much thought. I've had many regrets in my life but I've since changed my perspective and realise that even those mistakes I made were valuable lessons. I no longer live in the past but I use those lessons in my present and look forward to a future filled with promise.
Thanks for sharing

Expressed very well Micke. We have all spent quiet time and reflected on the past and wondered.

Excellent self-reflection, Micke. I've wondered at times the very same things, but you've put it all into words so perfectly. Very nice.
Love,
CJ
