Moon's Choice

Sitting on a
Quarter moon
He fishes from
The sea

Thinking of the
Love he left and
And sweet, sweet
Memories

He feels a tug
Pulls up the line
And finds a
Perfect pearl

So creamy white
And smooth it is
It seems to light
The world

He holds the gem
Tight in his hand
So thankful for
Good luck

He hears a soft cry
From above
He turns and then
Looks up

The moon begins
To tell him of
A love that it
Let go

To be admired
In the sky
Where it could
Brightly glow

And now it comes
Out every night
Alone in
Misery

The pearl he now
Holds in his hand
Is Moon’s tear shed in
The sea

Moon made him love
Moon made him crazed
Depended on
It’s mood

Moon could make him sweet
Or roam the street
Moon sometimes made
Him brood

Moon gave up love
For power and fame
That’s the choice
It made

Now there’s no wind
Clouds stop in front
And Moon begins
To fade

this so moving, you just seem to read the words, letting them soak into your mind. I love the way how you had he moon express it's feelings when it usually is the other way around,,such a cool write,,

BRAVO! Excellent write, it sent me into my child-like fantasy zone, with a much more modern fairytale tone, and kept me captured and enamored all the way through!! And, it reminds me of my pseudonym, Moongem!! Love your descriptions, Marilyn!
