In my eye’s mind, everyone’s running like they’re
Leaving town, and I don’t know why
Things become obscure as I fight to find my
bearings
I don’t know which direction to take, and I am so
confused
I hear a voice and it tells me that it will wait
for me, but I say, “No, no, you go on, it’s all right
I am tired from the struggle, my spirit is
weary and aching, so I’ll just rest here. I’ll
be along in week or two”
I drag this heavy burden home and lock the door
behind me but it’s seeping through; I can feel it
touching my pores
I look at my reflection in a mirror and it shows
the demise of my morale
Is this me, or an alter ego? Where did I go? I can’t
shake these feelings of my spirit leaving me. I am
consumed with overwhelming feelings of great loss.
With each breath, a tear falls. One by one they
sting my heart and it hurts so badly
I’m one lone grain of sand, stuck in the middle
of an hourglass; can’t go up and positioned to
go down. Even it were turned upside down, I’d
still be on the bottom.
I’m desperate for answers, but afraid to know –
Afraid to know that the me I know is gone forever
"I’m desperate for answers, but afraid to know –
Afraid to know that the me I know is gone forever"
It is so true, and we desperately seek the answers, then are afraid to find them out, becuase they may not be what we wanted, or they could be exactly what we wanted, and that maybe even more of a shocker. Through it all though, there is always growth, even when it seems like there is not.
Okay, this really did touch me a lot, so I am writing you a book here. lol! But the ending of this, "Afraid to know that the me I know is gone forever" really hit it home for me. The new person that surfaces out of this place, will be that much stronger!
Marilyn...thank you for such a moving description of the inescapable "Itis"

This touched me so deeply Mayilyn. It will come full circle and you will be more the real you soon. I find these times to be the seasons of greatest growth.
God, I'm so stupid, I can't quite grasp the joke...oy! Ha, some days you just don't want to have to think! So, you totally threw me off of the amazed feelings I was having at how well you explained my feelings, M.!! Desperate, yeah, that's it in a nutshell!!
Maybe we should start a support group on the side, here!! :) Ugh! My eyes are going to be puffy tomorrow!!
