Please vote in November. I don't enter the political arena very often, but it seems to me it's time we all took ownership of our views and the results of the election depend on each voter, not corporate fat cats and the bombardment of ads from both sides. Study the issues and vote.

One Vote

For a day of food for families hit hard,

For a week’s wages in behalf of American workers and American jobs,

For the month’s mortgage and a roof over their heads, foreclosures forestalled,

For a year’s medical coverage and prevention, instead of the ER,

For a decade to invest in the environment’s healing,

For a score of years or more of secure retirement, well earned,

For a generation of teachers, no longer self-funding their classrooms,

For a century of peace built on negotiation, not nukes,

For a new millennium, a new era,

A new leader,

For change.

I fear if we as a nation don't change soon, all may be lost. And we all need to vote for change.

I wish one vote would do the job, but we don't have the right candidates to vote for. Your poem does describe what most of us want and hope the next president will achieve.

Just got my replacement voter's registration card. I will be voting. (Think that if no one does, they have no right to complain. Conversely, if we pick the wrong one, we have all the right in the world to complain! LOL) I just hope we choose wisely. The economy will play a big part in this year's contest. Well said, Eileen, wish YOU were running: don't like the choices, given.

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.
