I always wanted what I had has a child
Grandmother and Grandfather around the corner
Drop in and laugh, pick some plums, share a cup of tea.
Cousins to climb the trees and make up games with.
Times moved us all far way.
I board a plane to visit the little ones.
They haven't seen me in so long, and they've grown so.
Do they know how much I love them?
And when I'm gone, my own house
Is emptier, the dogs missing our routine,
The hubby becomes a weekend bachelor,
I don't sleep well without those strong arms to hold me.
Wishing for the old days,
Wishing for the old ways,
No use to wish our lives away,
So acceptance and joy in the moment.
I think this is the best attitude. "We come this way only once, why not pass it in beauty?" (I forget who said that)

I enjoyed the poem, seasoned with life experiences. I especially like the line, "No use to wish our lives away,So acceptance and joy in the moment".
Thank You,
Thurman
I remember when we were young
family all around, play and sang together
now we are scattered throughout this wonderful land of ours
but our seed's seeds are enjoying their lives with their cousins
near by and I lonely for my close once upon a time siblings..................... Peace be with you
So much truth found in this lovely poem.Life would be wonderful, don't you think,if we'd just live out the last two lines of this poem ?
Continued success~
