      Softly Stealing Thoughts

The baby pinks and baby blues

steal softly from the sunset’s hues

and cause my arms to ache for you,

as thoughts of you my mind imbues.

Oh, peaceful slumber! Please subdue

the baby pinks and baby blues!

They taunt my vivid dreams anew,

and all I think about is you.

When I awake to morning’s dews

I find again those softest hues--

The baby pinks and baby blues

that cause my heart to long for you.

With new resolve, I bid adieu

to dreams of ever holding you,

‘til setting sun brings into view…

the baby pinks and baby blues.

Written in a Monorhyme Quatern form…

Whatever form it is! I LOVE YOUR CREATIVITY!
I fell all warm! with your chosen words that ended in New, You, View/Etc.
Excellently done, felt and seen!
I love and stare at clouds and take cloud picts. CONSTANTLY! They speak to our soul!
Your baby pinks and blues, are a whisper away!

That's a very interesting form of poetry, and well-done, Cryssa. It gives a relaxed, rhythmic feel with great emotion...rock-a-bye baby...Jerry

Fabulous, Cryssa. The feeling sings out with tenderness and harnessed, thoughtful emotion. You not only cradle the babies we have lost, but also the long-term fractured hearts of us mothers who bear them, especially. Grace and peace to you, as to us. With thanks, K xx

Cryssa, I don't think anything compares to the pain of losing a child. Beautifully written.

Losing a child is the worst thing aparent can endure, losing more than one needs all the faith not to bend a break.

PS: repost this poem with black fonts because a few of our AD authors have difficult to read them in color, and soft tones are the most difficult to them. Thanks.

Love the poem and the form in which it is written. Many a mother can relate to the pain of losing a child and I pray for your sorrow and hope the Lord comforts you in this loss.

Reading between the lines of this one... I felt your pain... losing a child is unbearable... however...you do such wonderful things to lift those around you... Writing also is a gift...when one can write about something that isn't about you...and the reader is moved or touched in such a lovely way... great writing. lindalaw

Dear Cryssa,
What a beautiful, haunting, poem. It makes my heart sad for you. It makes me wonder if you are writing about our loss or if you write for others. I know the poet experiences many things vicariously--but I think this is one of your own.

May all your dreams come true--in God's perfect time.

Love,
Linda

Mine's a similar theme-- about steeling thoughts... dreams of holding a baby whether pink bootied, or blue. I dream of that, and aunties to hold them. --Charlie

Stunning, Cryssa, these delicately hued lines of sadness, of loss ... that's what I read in this one. No worse pain than a Mommy bidding adieu to her little one, and seeing reminders, all around ... a lovely memorial, compassionately penned ... well done.

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla. :(

So beautiful in the blues and pinks was this delightful poem. My eyes will see nothing for awhile for the blues and pinks just made them smile. Love and hugs, Bonnie
