I especially liked your lines "But times have changed, and with it seasons too" because they seem to sum up how chronilogical time does not necessarily mean there has to be a seasonal change in a relationship.
People may age together and the relationship may actually improve like wine with age...but as you express so well in your poem, death or other circumstances may prevent that. Love your use of color!

The description and metaphor of the tree in describing the melt-down of relationship and the change of a person from warm understanding to aloof, frozen illness are very poignant, and well-done. The seasons change, life changes too and moves in a constant circle. The tree somehow doesn't feel as comforting when it sheds its green, yet it stands strong even in the face of winter's frozen glare. Beautifully done! ~Hugs, Elizabeth
