Cupid’s Love Potion #9

Cupid’s very busy dipping his arrows in the love potion #9.

He used a very power batch this year so it would mightily bind.

There are two lonely hearts that are lost and can not go on alone.

Both had been badly broken very long-ago and can not atone.

Both had stopped reaching out to anyone for fear of being hurt.

They close up on outstretched hands, seeming a little curt.

So our little Cupid has a difficult task ahead of him to fight.

But he knows if the batch is strong enough, it will be alright.

His first shot goes into the man that once dreamed of love so bad.

He gave so much of himself to someone when he was but a lad.

But she took all he had to give, his kindness, love and trust.

Then she stomped on his loving heart, until it almost bust.

So he was a definite challenge for our little Cupid guy.

But off went little Cupid’s arrow, up into the sky.

It hit its mark immediately, right into this man’s heart.

This man smiled at woman sitting there, because of a little dart.

But the woman sitting there also had a badly damaged heart.

So she wasn’t interested in this smile and showed it from the start.

She turned away from his loving smile but it almost made her break.

For this was something she had to do for her broken hearted sake.

This didn’t discourage Cupid, he prepared for such an act.

Off went another arrow into her heart where he found a  little crack.

She looked stunned at first but the powerful potion finally took its hold.

She suddenly turned around and smiled her heart no longer cold.

Two hearts were joined that day, in a beautiful tender way.

Both hearts mended instantaneously & Cupid had a glorious day.
