Thoughts of reality
etched images
scorching its path.
Inhaled raw emotions surged,
overwhelmed, I choked.
Escape
found no path,
imprisoned by emotions,
sensations of distraught
squeezing its mighty
hand around my life.
Falling to my knees
trembling with fear,
beneath whispers of tears
silent prayers suffocated,
unheard.
Death’s blanket
wrapped my soul
with cold warmth
comforting panic
to a sense of security,
knowing the pain would die
freeing me
from this moment of hell.
It matters not
that reality was taking my life,
for me the pain would end.
My only sorrow,
the pain for you would begin.
