Being alone means different things to different people. Once upon a long time ago, I found my views on being along had changed.
Alone Scarey to some Lonely to others. Frightening to some Welcomed by me. No one to ask “May I"? Never to be told “No”. Don’t have to stay when I would rather fly. I can roam whenever I want. Never to say "Would you mind if"? I cook and clean up after only me. Bed can be left unmade House left undusted. If I am scared…a comedy removes my fears If I am lonely, I read a captivating novel. I play my music, watch my favorite TV programs And just think, I have my very own closet not shared by anyone. I am my own person, I do as I please. I sleep when rest is needed. I am responsible for my only. On second thought, alone is very lonely. I have finally come to realize That life needs to be shared. It is not meant for one to be isolated We need to be responsible to ourselves along with others. For when we have others in our lives We become stronger human beings. When we put others before ourselves, We discover one of the reasons for life. Tina Millner 3/08

Very thoughtful and thought-provoking both. I cherish my alone-time, but sometimes wonder how much of it I could handle. I have never had a room that was just mine. As a kid, I slept in the middle of 2 others (both bed-wetters, which I was not)
So our lives are different. I believe God made us with a need for companionship with other people. I like that you came to that conclusion. Another benefit is that we can then hold each other accountable.

Beautiful. I am in much the same situation and alone can be very lonely. But it has its pluses too. By the way I am not being notified when you post. I would like to be. Liz

You bring out a very good point. There is a very big difference between being alone and being lonely, well said....
