hello...........is anyone there?
a breeze run pass me
'laughs in the air
didn't realize how dark it was in here
days turned into weeks
and I walk endlessly through my sleep
I should be tired and weak.......but I'm starting to care
and I didn't realize how dark it is in here
I thought I knew all my heart
I thought I was me from the start
but colors change and fall deep
mixing in with the words I speak
I love you.....I know that now
pride held the truth
insecrity smashed it down
loyalty to me............. ran out my ears
when silence smacked my face
and brought out my fears
I didn't know how dark it has been in here
for years...
I walked away from you with a grace
that told you I was never in that place.....of love
but I walked blind....cause of all those times
I had been hurt.......
hello....are you still here?
Or did you leave me with the fallin of your
tears.......
I see you I think
and my insides get soft and wet
my hands feel your silhouette
your back is turned.....and your silence burns
a hole straight through me
and I yearn......for your breath
I swear .....I didn't realize how dark it was in here
*but the mirror never lies.......
cause it don't hide the eyes*

Ooooohhh, girl.
This goes down like warm molasses on fresh-baked corncakes.
The last few lines, especially, hit me with solid images that
I felt I could almost put on canvas! You rock with this one, that's
for sure.

I like the ode, though, I don't see it as all bad for the narrator. I like things dark, everything looks better, doesn't it?

This was a well written, powerful emotional write. Great work!

So potent and oh so true. The insecurities of the heart can hinder you from allowing the love of a lifetime in....if you let it.
