I spoke your name softly into the night-
And let its sweetness surround me,
When it rolled off my lips it sounded as if -
I was whispering a prayer – maybe I was.
I find a silent strength within myself-
Given to me with the love you show,
And when I am alone I feel you the most-
I can’t explain this love – nor do I try.
With every, “I love you”, that I whisper-
I hear it when you say, “I love you too”,
And I feel the words deep inside my heart-
The heart that you hold – I feel it now.
Lay your love softly on me tonight-
Let me feel the touch that I am missing,
And let me speak the words of my heart-
Let me speak of love – let me speak of you.
The flame of love burns brightly-
For two hearts that are so much in love,
And I long to taste your sweetness again-
As it forms on your lips – I taste you now.
I spoke your name softly into the night-
And let its sweetness surround me,
When it rolled off my lips it sounded as if -
I was whispering a prayer – maybe I was.
As I read your poem, it seemed like you were grasping for words and it didn't resonate well with me as I read it. Perhaps it's just me, but I just felt you were trying too hard and not writing from your heart.
