In an ancient time across the land
the people feared the dead .

So to satisfy those departed
a banquet feast was laid .

Pagans believed that spirits
would be at peace if they were fed .

A lack of understanding
is behind all the things we dread .

There’s nothing to fear in
Halloween only what’s in our head .
