The garden was draped with mystic silk
as the sun arose
Beneath the willow tree I sat
wearing warm autumn clothes.
Leaves blew at my feet
and threw themselves into a small pile.
Autumns bleakness had caught up with me again for a while
In this enchanted garden where I sat upon a seat,
with the warmth of my memories
I drifted off to sleep.
Then surrounded by fairies I was unable to speak
as they whisked me away ,
where the mist kissed me on the cheek.
In green glades tall trees stood sadly
as their leaves blew away,
fairies danced in leaves
as if it were a game to play,
where gossamer threads stitched the sunlit patches that lay bare
in the dappled light as I slept under the willow there.
The mist turned to gold
and dripped like water down to the ground
and then the fairies scooped up the all the golden leaves around .
The leaves where placed into pots and the fairies set to work,
digging holes,
and planting pots of golden leaves in the dirt.
Suddenly around the garden
golden buttercups bloomed,
as the fairies scattered between
the soft light and the gloom,
they returned from the half light
and pots of gold they carried .
Underneath the buttercups ,
is where their gold was buried .
I awoke and felt
a kind of strangeness creep over me.
It was like someone was there with me ,
but how could that be?
I looked around the garden,
it's secrets hidden away .
I asked the Willow tree who was there ,
but it would not say.
I asked the falling leaves
that fell down upon the ground there ,
but they just rustled about in the crisp clear morning air .
I asked the garden statues
but they would not say a thing .
I asked the birds in the trees
but all they could do was sing.
The day was getting on
and time was running after eight.
Mother nature pointed her finger at the garden gate.
In the garden
another set of footprints were quite clear.
I must have slept walked,
unless someone else had been in here.
As I walked through the gate
over there by the Willow tree ,
the sun seemed to shine a little brighter than previously .
