i wrote this after reading about a girl who cuts herself and i tried to put myself in her place to figure out why she would do that. i hope it doesn't offend anyone. i'm still posting mostly old stuff.
She is fourteen years old
And the things that have been done
To her
Are unspeakable
The horror she has to endured is
Unending
She goes thru her life
Just pretending
But she survives, she’s found a way
Her heart is now
Unbreakable
When the terror gets too much
When the pain
Fills her up
She takes the blade, sharp as her agony
And cuts herself
Lets it all drain away
She hides the scars on her heart
Along with the scars
On her arms
And she endures
And she survives
Because
She’s
Found a way
To stop the pain
And get thru her day
She lets her pain
Bleed away

This grips the heart, so sad and all too real for many.
Sue, outstanding writting.I know people who do this and yes they are very troubled. It is a sad method of relieving pain. They bleed terribly on the inside and cope by their external self-inflictions.
