Elections come and go
Candidates expound to and fro
Hyperbole, diatribe, and banal
Comments abound without rationale
They will say anything to get elected
Accountable only to those selected
Pundits look for new jobs tomorrow
To see them leave brings no sorrow
We’ve had our fill of broken promises
Pardon us for being doubting Thomases
A breath of fresh air returns November Third
To extinguish a year of the absurd
We common folk know the score
Don’t lie, steal, cheat, or bore
Take heed pollsters and advisers
We’ve had enough fertilizer
Our thoughts remain logical and clear
Despite the rhetoric this last year
Goodbye to the circus that must leave town
Four more years to the next countdown
Candidates return in the early spring
Like birds taken flight with fleeting wing
For now let us rest and return to living
Absent the epithets and mudslinging

Now that is telling it you sure put on the dog with this one. Great job.
I wish it would all go away as soon as the third..but that's not likely to happen. Then they just turn it over to their lawyers and let them fight and throw mud for a while.
Nice write Keith.
From the land of the milked and honeyed here’s a few political faux pas and a bit of attitude exposed to the harsh light of a Canadian who actually has their own opinion.
