for all those who are where they dont need to be

YOU WERE LIKE THE SUNRISE

MY HEARTS NEW BEGINNING

MY LOVE ROSE FROM COLD DEPTHS

I SAW IN YOU MY SOULS REVISION

AN OVERWHELMING GOLDEN TOUCH

WHICH SINGED

AWAY THE MORNING MIST

EVAPORATING THE DARKNESS OF MY LIFE

YOU WERE LIKE THE SUNRISE TO ME

AN ANSWER TO PRAYERS FROM DEEP WITHIN MY

MISERY, ABOVE THE EASTERN HORIZON

MY EYES CAME UPON THEE

YOU WERE LIKE THE SUNRISE TO ME

I GAZED WITH A CHILDS FASINATION

MY EYES FILLED WITH ADULATION

TOWARDS YOU I RAN

WITH NEW FOUND EXHILARATION

YOU WERE LIKE THE SUNRISE TO ME

THE INTENSITY OF YOUR RADIANCE

GLAZED MY EYES

FILLED WITH AMAZEMENT, I FAIL TO REALIZE

THE UNDERLINING TRUTH THAT KEEPS US APART

IS THE UNATTAINABLE DISTANCE YOU

SET FOR YOUR HEART

YOU WERE LIKE THE SUNRISE TO ME

EVEN WITH THE SPEED OF MERCURY,

 I CANNOT CLOSE THE DISTANCE

I FAIL TO UNDERSTAND YOUR

INTOLERABLE RESISTANCE

YOU WERE LIKE THE SUNRISE TO ME

UNABLE TO OBTAIN THE STRENGTH, TO SUSTAIN

MY LOVE AND ADMIRATION,

I FALL IN DESPERATION

EMOTIONALLY PAINED,

EXHAUSTION HAS DRAINED

THE VIGOR OF MY HEART,

I AM CAUGHT IN EPIPHANY’S NET,

AND I AM PROFOUNDLY UPSET

FOR I HAVE JUST REALIZED, WITH YOU,

I’VE BEEN CHASING THE SUNSET
