She stood within the dark new night

And stared up at the sky

Her eyes seeking the precious star

That would be in her love’s eye.

A tear of mixed emotion fell

Upon her moonlit face

And she smiled to the precious star

In loving silent grace.

She didn’t tear her eyes away

Until she heard him sing

His voice carried o’er the waves

Upon the dragon’s wing.

A tear of joy played happily

Upon her moonlit face

As she smiled to the dragon sweet

In loving silent grace.

It beat its wings and came to her

From the deep dark sky

And looked upon the precious girl

Who was in its master’s eye.

A tear of love fell silently

Upon the dragon’s wing

To be carried to the man

So he could hear his sweet love sing.

He stood upon the jagged cliff

Staring into the sky

Watching intensely the precious star

That was in his love’s eye.

A tear of mixed emotion fell

Upon his moonlit face

And he smiled to the precious star

In loving silent grace.

He didn’t tear his eyes away

Until he heard her sing

Her voice carried o’er the waves

Upon the dragon’s wing.

A tear of joy played happily

Upon his moonlit face

As he smiled to his loyal friend

In loving silent grace.

It beat its wings and came to him

From the deep dark sky

And brought to him the tear of love

That fell from his love’s eye.

A tear of love fell silently

Upon the dragon’s wing

To be carried back to the girl

So she could again hear him sing.
