The snow is on the roses
They wither and fade
No kittens lay on the quilt
I lovingly made
Door's bolted shut
I can't go home again
Oh it feels like
I've lost a precious friend
The snow is on the roses
As I lay here in this room
The nurse pulls up a shade
To chase away the gloom
I am fading fast
Each breath harder than before
The pain that I'm in
I can't take it anymore
The snow is on the roses
As I hear the angels sing
Life goes on around me
It doesn't mean anything
Every moment of my life
Has led up to this day
When the angels come for me
And carry me away
The snow is on the roses
As I see the light
So beautiful it glows
Peaceful and bright
Loving arms reach for me
I know I'm not alone
From one doorway to the next
Into my Heavenly home
To be able to evoke such a feeling of sadness and at the same time hope for the coming release is commendable. Moving words, indeed.
