When all is said and done
And my eulogy is read
Will my soul rest in peace
After I am dead
Have I done all I can do
To help my fellowman
Have I made a difference
Did I lend a helping hand

When the moon casts its shadow
On my grave tonight
Can I honestly tell myself
I've done everything just right
So many people hurting
Children molested every day
I've shouted it to the world
Did they listen to what I say

Homeless people in the street
The lonely and the sad
I never had alot in life
But I gave them what I had
I never had much money
I had to count every dime
But I had important things to give
Just wish I'd had more time

I wonder if words on paper
Will it mean very much
When I draw my last breath
Who's life have I touched
I know its impossible
To wipe away every tear
And I don't have the power
To make pain just disappear

But I hope in some small way
I've helped just one soul
My life will not be in vain
I'd have reached my goal
Have I done all I can do
To help my fellowman
Have I made a difference
Did I lend a helping hand

If we all just helped one other soul in our lifetimes, I think all of our lives would have meaning - and I think you have surely helped far more than one.

Good write Linda, I believe we get credit even for each prayer we send and each thought of kindness we create, one does not need to touch the physical hand to fill it. Lady J

Dear Linda,

The thoughts, emmanating from your heart have become words and I'm sure that your actions have followed that same path. Go in peace.

Love & Light always and in all ways,

First: Very good write, also loved the picture. Second: Even the greatest philosophers throughout history have pondered that same question, without answers, I must add. I don't often quote scripture, but there is a verse that has stayed with me for years. Read Micah 6:8...no read the whole book of Micah, but the 6th chapter in particular holds some great truths. Good question, good pen.

Thanks,
Dan

I am sure of one thing Linda when the role is called your name will be close to the top, your love and hope for all humanity is evident in all who cross your path and I am honoured to consider myself one of those. Hugs.
