The roads getting long
The hills harder to climb
Newspapers full of hate
Everywhere there's crime
Shadows dance around me
And I can't hide anymore
I don't have the strength
That I always had before
Dreams vanish from my sight
On the wings of a star
I'm weary and tired, Lord
I'm ready when you are...

It seems I was always dealt
The thorn and not the rose
I did the best I could
For I know how life goes
I've always welcomed shadows
Instead of walking in the sun
The race was always over
Before I had begun
Dreams vanish from my sight
On the wings of a star
I'm weary and tired, Lord
I'm ready when you are...

It hasn't been all bad
I also had good years
Smiles was somehow mixed in
With the pain and tears
Where I used to stand tall
My feet stumble along the way
Morning's find me waking up
To face another day
Dreams vanish from my sight
On the wings of a star
I'm weary and tired , Lord
I'm ready when you are...

In God's own good time, dear Linda
there are still things he has for you to do.

A very moving write my friend, you know the bible tells us that there will tribulation, I am beginning to think that we are living in the last days. I don't expect that life will ever be as it once was, when we could lay down at night and not worry about strangers or even neighbors invading our homes or cars. When neighbors were willing to lend a helping hand, when revival came Christians flocked to the church and sinners gathered outside. I don't think we will ever see the days of peace such as those again, maybe days here and there, but not in abundance. Times haven't changed, but people have, their hearts have waxed cold, and it has become a selfish way of life with no morals, drugs have invaded almost every society which carries affects everyone...I pray for my lost family to find salvation, then I too will be ready, but for now I will enjoy the little bit of peace that we find within our homes, churches, and my classroom and pray on. You've touched me deeply with this write my friend! A thought provoking write indeed! Enjoyed!
Blessings,
Joyce B.

Even so, come, Lord Jesus. Only He can help: nothing is impossible with Him. Well done! I feel your exhaustion and pain.

Life truly can make us weary and tired, but the road is long, and we must travel on.

"Do not go gently into that dark night."

A beautifully written poem, but so very sad. I imagine most of us feel that way at times, but we mustn't give in to it, or ask God to invite us sooner than our time. Maybe there will be a new rose blooming tomorrow.

VEry emotional and painful, but there is still a long road ahead of you yet Linda and so much good for you to still do by spreading your important messages in verse. So say a prayer, drink some Gatorade and find your second wind for your job is not yet done. Hugs.

Linda, your poetry is so emotionally moving.
When you get to where you are
You know He isn't far.
Your dreams have vanished
But His will appear
And he'll wipe away your tears
