Silent World

She sits in her rocking chair-
a faint smile on her face.
She's remembering another time-
another day-another place.
I can only see my mother as she
was when I was a girl-
Now she's all wrapped up in
her own silent world.

I wonder if she thinks of me in
her own private way-
Does she remember the happy times?
It seems like yesterday.
Now she is only a shell from the
Mother I have known-
All the hugs - All the talks- All
the sharing - it is gone!

If only I could break through the wall
separating her from me-
If only I could bring back my Mother
as she used to be.
Is she as lonely inside as she seems
to appear?
Do I see at times the tiny glimmer
of a tear?

Mother , please come back to me-
This plea comes from my heart.
Break down the barrier , Mother, thats
keeping us apart!
I miss the beautiful times we had-
The memories that we shared-
There were moments in my life, Mother,
when you were the only one who cared.

My childhood years - our happy times-
Are locked somewhere in memory-
And only YOU dear Mother, only you
hold the key.
I can only see my Mother as she was
when I was a girl-
Now she's all wrapped up in her own
private world.

Please pray for all the wonderful people that Alzheimers has robbed their mind of such precious memories.

Beautiful write! She knows you in her heart. And again someday, she will know you in her mind. Terrible disease, but lets all pray for a cure to this affliction. Hold her hand, look her in the eye, and always,,always,,tell her how much you love her. Lisa

Alzheimer is a very lonely disease, the person needs to be talked to everyday, to remind her of who she is and who you are. Never lose that talk with her everyday. Don't let her be by herself, always give her your time to talk to her. She might not know you now, but she can always start to know you again every day.

She can still know you, at the beginning of everyday to enjoy the rest of the day, until the next day again.....she'll start to know you again.

You can make her come back to you by talking to her, don't let her sit alone.
