Wind howling, trees bending,
Tempest in the brew!
Rain lashing, lawn soaking,
Flooding will ensue!
Thoughts racing, muse nudging,
Nature’s fury frightening!
Lights flickering, hand shaking,
Thunder first, then lightening!
Ocean rising, waves pounding,
Hurricane comes ashore!
Should have left, with the rest,
Wind is now a roar!
There’s no hiding, storm is raging,
Oops there go the lights!
Darkness now, but I know somehow,
I will survive this night!
House shaking, windows breaking,
Water on the floor!
Waves lapping, sudden tapping,
Someone at the door!
Courage fading, slowly wading,
Must see who is there!
Flashlight diming, fireman grinning,
A poet’s life is spared!

Peace,
Dayvid
I could feel the storm and the wind howling. This sounds like one of our monsoons. Nasty things. Very well written visuals.
