And the sun eased out from behind a cloud
As a soft- soft spring breeze blew
And the world, a squirrel and I all sat
Just spellbound by the view

The view of God's eternal work
As He transformed the land
Once more from winter's bleak and grey
To an emerald green so grand

And the shafts of light poked here and there
Among the loving trees
As I raised my eyes in silent thanks
For beauties such as these

Whether it be God, or what, that makes
Such wondrous things, who knows
I only know I give great thanks
For each precious thing that grows

I give great thanks for each precious thing
The great outdoors has sent
Into a life not otherwise
Too wise or too well spent!
