A Shared Tragedy All eyes glued To our TV screens Too stunned to react To the surreal scenes. Watching one tower Being suddenly hit Then the other As we traumatized sit. Still not believing We listen in shock As the Pentagon is next The nation's rock. So far away Yet still terribly near We share the pain We feel the fear. Lady Liberty cries And so do we As we rush to help Ease the tragedy. We send our prayers Our blood and more We send with a will That's what neighbours are for. from your friends in Canada.
Written 2 days after the Sept. 11/2001 tragedy
