In Remembrance


The guns of war are silent now
Amid white crosses row on row
As heads we bow in silent prayer
For those who died so long ago.

The 11th hour of the 11th day
Of the 11th month we solemnly pray
For all the fathers, husbands, sons
And all the friends who went away.

And for the ones who did return.
But never ever were the same;
For those who learned that war is hell.
