This poem was rejected by a Christian poetry site, they misunderstood its meaning.

  I crossed the line

lured by your shine

(which blinds me even now,)

I went to somewhere 'outta' bounds

to touch a rainbows bough,

I skipped on lanes to higher plains

I trailed you to get high

tagged upon your shooting star

to feel my spirit... f l y!

Ecstasy and feeling free

were on the other side...

and nobody knows what I mean,

but,'thank you, for the ride.'

The line I crossed

is ever lost

because I tripped and fell

I sped through space

I lost all grace

as secrets spilled their well.

Still, ever will I feel the thrill

of flying close by YOU

and I WOULD jump that line again

to tell you this...is true .

I've lost the line too many times

 to ever get back where

I held my heart a prisoner

in a cell no one would share,

and even though its hiding now...

(just like it use to be,)

I find contentment knowing that

for one day.... it was free.

I'll not be sorry,no,I won't,

although it brought a loss,

truth at times crosses lines

perhaps best NOT to cross,

blossoms fell from off my tree

to make the point I made

but 'sorry' I will NEVER be,

that ONCE,I felt so brave.

No ,I will not be sorry that

I stepped the line to free,

and bared my soul

so you might know

another side of me.

And even though I turned and ran

the second that you saw,

I am content

that once I spent a moment seeking

Thank you for the comments...for those who wonder what this is really about,it is just about the day when I told someone that 'I loved 'them. I had held those words in for ages before that day but in a moment of bravery,I told him and then I 'ran for hills'(so to speak) nothing ever came of it as it was not a mutual feeling.I am forever glad that I did have the courage to express my feelings and though there was embarrassment for us BOTH,we both had a better respect for each other afterward and we have remained distant but good'friends.'Later he found his true love.
Life goes on...all is well...I am happy for him.

In our lives
we always walk the road
we've walk

Better or worse
There's always a line
"the limit"

Crossed the line
but don't go further
tracing footsteps

Back home
is where you belong
sweet home

I guess that the reason the Christian site reected it is they interpreted it as being a confession of immorality. Shame on them and a pox on their judgment! This is a sensitive and beautiful piece of confessional poetry and I applaud you for writing and posting it for us to share.

PS: The attitude of the Christian site reminds me of a piece by the famous Canadian writer, Irving Layton, titled 'Misunderstanding':
"I placed/my hand/upon/her thigh.
By the way/she moved/away/I could see/her devotion/to literature/was not/perfect.*

Don't let mid-Victorian meddlers discourage you from staying in touch with your REAL feelings and expressing them whenever and however you need to. Write on!
