He wont write to me,anymore,
he don't want to sight me even briefly
by his door,
he has climbed up higher than
he's ever been before,
and he don't need 'the likes of me'
...no more.
What's the reason? I don't know,
I guess I'm just old news,
easy to be tossed aside,
easy to be used,
I dream music from a piano
playing 'Auld Lang Syne"
BUT the keys he plays and leaves
are 'just a tease,'
I find.

Take a minute Mr. starlight,
will you sir...for me?
Just shine over in my corner
m o m e n t a r i l y.

I don't want your EVERYTHING,
I don't want your ALL,
I just want your brilliant sparks
now and then
to fall,
upon this wall,(this endless wall.)

Tinkle on my piano one 'hello,'
play a minute Waltz for me...
(nothing really slow.)

I just need a tiny glimpse of light,
but I guess,
I am left
with only seeing...night.
Alright...ALRIGHT!

He don't want to write to me no more,
guess I'll have to write myself
a more amusing score.
Guess he wasn't such a friend
to rend my heart so sore.
It's hard to take
but I must wake
myself from his allure.
I'm knocking down the pedestal I
put him on,for sure,
cause he don't want to know me....a n y m o r e.

Powerfully penned, Kay. And many can relate, I'm sure.

How often those many of us place high on pedestals through love and admiration, end up at the bottom of our heart's heap - when we truly discover their true essence.
