Fantasy Poem

“Untitled”

Sheri L. McGathy

He came from our future
from a time we could not share
to a land of illusions
with a message to be bared

He walked among my people
he showed us that he cared
the time he knew was coming near
the trouble soon would be there

He told us that the times to come
would fill our lives with sorrow
that the land that we had known
would not be here tomorrow

The people didn’t listen
they didn’t hear at all
they laughed and sang and danced about
they didn’t heed his call

He shook his head and sighed out loud
turned to walk away
he raised his hand and waved farewell
then vanished into the clouds

The day grew black
the wind rose up
the people looked around

The whistles blew
the warning came
the people felt the pain

The cloud is gone
the crowds have vanished
only a few remain
the land that we had known
has simply gone away

He is coming soon to take us away to his home on high, and we should all be living as if it would be today or tomorrow. Unfortunately some think nothing if warnings and signs and do go against the prophecy and don't care and some find it and are glad they did. Oh, woe to those that leave it too late.

Interesting poetry. As a society we never listen, as a world we fail to heed. I found this write very descriptive of the human race.

do we ever listen?...we have "chicken little obsession"...anyone who warms us of impending doom must be wrong, eh?...who knows?...one day...someone will be right.
