So Sad, So Lonely

So Sad, So Lonely

 

Twas a sad and lonely day,

No,

not cause a friend had passed away.

Twas a sad and lonely night,

No,

not cause my love had taken flight.

What to do on such a day,

Where to go,

what to say?

Wandering the rooms

from here to there,

friends I have

I know not where.

Leave my home

go take a ride,

but oh so lonely

when back inside.

Wireless call

to pass the time,

but telephone talk

not my line.

Watch TV

then read a book

still tis

though

a lonely time,

cause my computer's

not online.

Those computer keys do transport us to other places, but as long as I have a book I am never lonely...won't let myself go there.

I love them awesome reality of this poem, Mark. I was without my computer for two days recently and suffered severe withdrawal symptoms! REALLY! Like you, I tried reading, calling friends, but needed my computer most of all. How dependent we are on these electrical friends! Hope you're back online now. Joy L. Hale
