The Purpose that Prevails

Why do we think that life on this earth

 has its own guarantee as a right of our birth?

And why do we focus on what we must do

before our day ends and our journey is through?

We don't understand that our passage is short,

that our mission is sure and our ship’s in the port,

for a moment, a breath, and then we are off

to finish the race, whatever the cost.

And when we cross over the last finish line,

when our energy goes and we run out of time,

we won't be regretting the things left undone;

For we'll understand that our day in the sun

was marked by the Maker who planned from the start

to establish His Kingdom in each human heart.

Proverbs 19:21

Many are the plans in a man's heart,

 but it is the LORD's purpose that prevails.
