Please pray for our President

Whether or not you like his politics.

For we pray not by man’s command

But by the will of Christ.

Who loved enough to give himself

While sinners— you and I—

Continued in our willful ways,

He came.  He loved.  He died.

This earth will no perfection see

For eyes of flesh are stained

By sin and circumstance and pride

And man’s own willful ways.

We crucify our Savior

And justify ourselves,

We deny the sin in our own hearts

But consign our friends to Hell.

We think to do good, but evil comes

To make its presence known,

The harvest growing in our field

Is from the seeds we’ve sown.

Oh, Maker of the Universe

And Lover of my soul,

Convict my pride, Confirm my love

And cause those seeds to grow

That nourish others by Your grace

And honor your commands

Come Lord Jesus, Come I pray

And heal our beloved Land.
