The Way To Shang-ri-la

Listening to the wind
with its hungry cry,
Warriors come to try their souls.
Some will live and some will die.
Banners under the sun
below a bloodstained sky,
will shroud the ancient earth
where fallen heroes lie.

Flowers under the moon,
Dragons in the sky,
The white wolf sounds the call
That leads to Shang-ra-la

The city of forever,
Lost amid the ice,
is given to the dreamer
No one else can pay the price.
Time is an illusion.
Change is an iron law.
If you haven't counted the cost,
Turn away from the call.

Flowers under the moon,
Dragons in the sky,
The white wolf guards the way
to where your dreams may lie.

Loved the images. Got a little tangled in the cadence, but mine's off...
loved: hungry cry,

A poem filled with evocative images and exuding a lyrical quality. Were I a composer I am sure I could write an accompanying melody with a forceful yet sombre tone.
I enjpyed reading it and got an extensions of enjoyment from reflecting on it.
PS: Thanks for your reviews.
