Pride, as a well-worn blanket
enwraps my resident misery.
Ominous eyes my sole windows
enticing curiousity's fool
to gaze within
grazing my internally parched
landscape with intimacy's light--
lifted veils revealing in kind
the man's eternal longing for money
lost among
the lad's eternal longing for love
crushed as the delicate fern
beneath the methodical march of Time.
Challenge or no challenge, this is one gorgeous poem! It lilts.. floats.. I felt captivated by the way to wove these thoughts together.. and then, if that weren't enough.. an amazingly poignant finale. Vicky.. this is truly great! katy.
