I remember the days when I had only a dime But I felt richer than anyone by far To be able to buy a comic book or candy bar. I could ride my bike to my heart’s content And climb a tree to read a book Or lie on the grass or run through a brook. Now we expect much and want more and more Gadgets and gizmos that ring and beep. If we couldn’t have it all, what would we choose to keep? Where will it end, this desire to have things? Are we in control or do they control us? I think less is more and really a plus.

Good poem that we can all identify with, Donelle. We do seem to care too much about “gadgets and gizmos” and don’t appreciate the simple things enough.
