Love hurts

I'll let another tear drop fall to wash away the pain I'll let another tear drop fall to wash away my shame Another little tear drop will wash away your touch One more little tear drop for memories that hurt so much I'll let another tear drop fall to wash away the years And one more little tear drop to wash away my fears If I sit down and cry hard enough and let the tear drops fall, Maybe I will forget and won't remember you at all. � Copyright 2004 Sherry Gibson. Maybe. Unfortunately, our minds play tricks on us. It takes a long time to forget hurtful things. They seem to crop up in our memories more often than the good times. I like the flow of this poem.

The image of the lonely wolf howling fits the sadness of this poem. Tears can wash away much, indeed.
