Where do years go?
Our childhood,
A moment of innocence
Those few years
Of pure happiness
Just fly without even letting us
Take it all in
So quickly, so fast
Years are flying away
In the distance
Even now, that child within me -
I can still connect with her so often, but looking
Deep inside, this light is going, slowly fading
From my life...
Life goes by, not letting us take a chance
To look around and adore
The world that's around us...
The happiness that's inside us.
How I miss being a kid...
The memories connect with
So many tingly, warming feelings
It's almost surreal to think of it -
That light, pure whiteness inside
Slowly gets dusty, as childhood
Fades from my eyes.
Inside me, no matter the years,
Deep within I know
That light will keep its flow...
You share a timeless and universal theme of this life/world, Tonya. I am sure many will relate; I know I certainly do. I was captivated by your words (below) because I completely agree - and I have not found it true that "time heals all wounds."
