"Send us some snow down in Texas," she said
We're tired of heat so much of the time
So Santa complied, now, she's fit to be tied
Despite getting all that she wished for.
Now there's white all around. On the roofs, on the ground And she's getting just what she had wished for.
But that made things worse, just like cussing a curse,
Though she got what she wanted and a little bit more.
"Alas the girl cried, "I'm fit to be tied.
I'm out in cold without mittens.
"Give us sunshine agin for me and my kin
And I'll take back all that I wished for."
So seconds have past. The snow didn't last
And the sun came out like she wished for
She said "I'll try to be good, like young ladies should,
And accept what I get -- without begging for more
Will she stick to her pledge? Or will she hedge?
I really don't have a good answer.
But one thing I find, with no never-mind
We must take what we get with the weather.
If it rains, let it rain, if it snows, let it snow.
Our wishes don't often influence nature.
That's one thing I learned, while pages I turned
At a job that involved predicting the weather.

It wasn't the snow that bothered me...it was that cold artic wind!

Too funny, Hank; thanks for sharing this delightful write! We got maybe anywhere from a dusting to a half inch of the white stuff while houston and points south got clocked with some places having as much as over a FOOT of snow! (wish it'd been us; then we would have maybe been closed christmas...wishful thinking, i suppose...LOL) well done; enjoyed!

here in north central texas, we got anywhere from a dusting to a couple of inches (depending where you live--we got the dusting). nice to see
saw galveston and corpus christi on the news, they were making snowmen on the beach LOL NUTS!!!!
