Poem Artwork

Destinations

Like a star on the brink of the event horizon
Gathering speed losing time
Collecting thoughts
Shedding old fears
Knowing that forever is but moments away
I am drawn to you.

There is a certainty in this space
That transcends all yet
My soul has not a care
Of the dangers laid bare
Or the price to be paid
For life’s highest reward.

Soaring
Beyond reasons
Without bounds
Without seasons.

How glorious the sights
And the sounds of
This journey
To a time and place
Reserved for none
Yet open to all.

Still nothing is lost
When all is at risk
Where trust is our guide
And love is
Our destination.

The first stanza is so well written there is no need for the rest . . . Still, the others give credence to the first. Like Jane, I feel your poem gives of itself all it has to give, and that is a good thing. Awesome write!

Indeed, a noble sentiment to be sure, made surprisingly accessible here in this poem. Something elusive that becomes surprisingly real. As you say, "nothing is lost, where trust is our guide. Thanks for sharing this intimate thought. John
