There’s a name that lifts my spirit high
And clears my reverie with a sigh
It stirs my soul like no other name can
Like an invisible force at my command
It reminds me of who I am and why.
But a name is not my true affection
Like a mirror it shows a mere reflection
I cannot hold it kiss it or caress it
I can neither clothe it nor undress it
For if I could then surely I would try.
O how I long to press your flesh and hold you in my arms
And find therein the wonder of your charms
Your name alone sustains me thru the day
But there’s so much more for me to say
If only I could find you standing nearby.
For now …
I’ll weave within virtual body parts joyously
Intent but not quite noiselessly
And somewhere in those nooks and grooves
I’ll find my place and make my moves
In search of prizes gloriously.
But after all these years alas
I find you have too much class
For pampered men with beady eyes
Who think of nothing but a prize
While waiting for the next updraft.
All too often I find myself wondering what men see in some women. It's like they look for the trashiest, most obscene caricature they can find to set their sights on.
But not with Marilyn. Too many sensed her vulnerability in the same way a pack of wolves sense the weakest in a herd and she paid dearly for it. It's really too bad she did not have the good fortune to meet the special men in the world who saw her "as more than sexual." One of you may have helped her save herself.
Everyone has their favorite films when it comes to Marilyn. Mine is Bus Stop, oh the frustration and exasperation of having that nag following her around all the time. She was perfect in the role. John
I'm sure Arthur Miller and John Huston shared in your thoughts as they attempted (and succeeded) in bringing her out of the sex goddess in legitimate acting with "The Misfits". What a picture that was. That dress pr shot still holds true, though.
Hah! Last stanza was outta sight, Edward. I don't long for Marilyn as I used to, but she was very much on my mind and other places back in tha day, don't ya know!
Due to illness my cover artist, Jack Hoyle, of t-rexstudios.com is still producing the final cover for this title. The cover shown is just a place holder cover. Thanks for understanding, MR

She could put a spell on me,
without witchcraft,
and oh how I long,
for that next updraft.
Love ya!
