I thought I would make another try at sensuality
and perspicuity and beauty while I am still mostly in the upright position.

Remembrances

She walks in beauty along an inclined pathway
Somewhere between old and new Mexico--
Her smile is beaming in the morning mist.
My heart leaps in this joyful moment of wonder
Where nothing else matters except she and I.

I am a part of her world only in spirit
Like the summer wind that rushes in
And is felt most auspiciously by those who have
dared to dial in a time and place
to be remembered.

Such a wonder to behold
That neither time nor circumstance can take away--
Anticipation fills the air.
Her soft dark hair flows invitingly over her shoulder
She tilts her head as her smile broadens:
She remembers us.
She stops pauses and sits down
on the curb.
She moves her hair sensuously
to her other shoulder
Revealing the full enchantment of her
perfect face.

Suddenly we are alone on a balcony
overlooking our rendezvous
Our destiny.
Perched there on a wicker chair
her smile breaks out into
Laughter.
As she undresses to
reveal as perfect a state of
loveliness as ever there was.

Mental images click in rapid succession
as she poses just for me
I am smitten
Beguiled
Enthralled
At each posture
Each moment of perfection
Unfolding before my eyes
my mind and my sensibilities.

I exhale and just as suddenly
as she entered my reverie
She vanishes into thin air.

My heart stops.
How could this be?
What have I done to deserve
Just a glimpse of
Paradise?

The wind and the rain burst
with intensity
as they beat against my face
on that lonely path leading from
My day and my place in the sun.

Will she ever return?
Only fools dare ask…

As one who has known a fantasy lover, I enjoyed your experience in worded splendor. She'll return, I promise you.

You have penned a very sensuous dream that culminated, like many dreams like that, without consummation because the subject of your dream disappeared.

Maybe you've been listening to Marty Robbins singing El Paso lately. I checked. The lyrics seem to have changed a great deal? Did you steal them? ;-)

Thanks for the new word. Learn something new every day.

Ah, that the expressions of love can be so loving. Held in the memory as they hold fast. Beautifully rendered.

Written with true style and elegance…
Dreamy and sensual…

I hope there will be more glimpses of. Paradise…

Romance poetry at it's best. Sometimes we get that glimpse at perfection and when we do it stays with us forever in mind and heart.
