It ain’t necessarily so
The Earth travels wherever we go
The moon and the stars
Come to us bottled in jars
It ain’t necessarily so.

When I think of that tiny Blue Dot
Your name jostles my senses a lot
You fire up my brain
In a pleasant refrain
I just wanted someone to know.

Way down in a tiny live cell
Is a place we don’t know very well
Wherever we move
Natural selection approves
It ain’t necessarily so.

When I’m near a very black hole
Let me say I’m nobody’s fool
Near the event horizon
Things are shiftin’ and risin’
It ain’t necessarily so.

There was a young maiden named Bright
Who could travel much faster than light
She took off one day
In a relative way
And returned the preceding night.
